We are bespoke Framers. Flair, imaginative boldness, the ability to select just the right frame, control of all stages of the framing process, and our use of only the best materials—over two decades these are the things that have seen countless pieces of artwork framed by us to perfection. Your frame will be beautifully handmade, durable and, above all, it will complement not only the artwork, but also the space in which it is to hang. Read more

Lacquering
Once the frame has been prepared, we use a durable high performance lacquer for a flawless sprayed finish, along with a wide range of our own colours. We can match exactly any colour from the Farrow and Ball and the Little Green Paint Company ranges, should you wish it.

Gilding and Silvering
For gilding we use only the highest-grade materials: Dutch metal, real silver leaf and 24crt gold. We employ a traditional water gilding technique, which involves floating the leaf on the surface of a bole (on a layer of clay). The bole can be manipulated to make the leaf reflect other colours (gold with red, silver with blue, etc.) in accordance with the client’s wishes. If using 24crt gold, the bole supplies a flexible surface that allows for polishing the gold with an agate burnisher, thereby obtaining a brilliant and very smooth effect. This technique of gilding requires a significant level of expertise.

By combining lacquers with gilding or silvering, a variety of effects and colour combinations can be achieved: more traditional finishes or, equally, dramatic, contemporary effects. Lacquering provides a wonderful amount of scope, whether you want your frame to be striking, stylish or subtle. With our experienced and intuitive guidance, you will find the optimum combination.
