The Birds and The Bees and Beautiful Maps

On Monday Sophie-Rose and I spent a great day in London for the Top Drawer show. I always love to see what's new and see our lovely suppliers with their latest products. We were most excited to have discovered a family firm recreating the beautiful folding maps that are a usually a wonderful find in an antique shop. These are produced using all the traditional techniques and craft even the original glue recipe! Here is a preview, we can't wait for them to arrive so we can do a fabulous window display.

We have seen several of these beautiful prints by Woop Studios, when our customers have brought them in for framing, so were very pleased to meet the charming artists and chat about their future ideas and add their lovely range to our collection of artwork in our Lewes shop.

At Top Drawer it was good to see Darren, designer at Sukie after some years, he was very upbeat just back from a New York gift fair and was showing off his new designs. We liked these school book bags, gift boxes and gift tag sets.

Stephen and I went to the opening of the Brighton Art Fair last night and I fell in love with this beautiful painting by Molly Parks, she is an artist working with the Arthouse Meath, a social enterprise celebrating the artistic talents of adults living with epilepsy and learning difficulties.

We have found some gorgeous things for you to discover later in the season beautiful Christmas decorations, some very original design ideas for presents and beautiful new ranges of wrapping papers and greetings cards….Watch this space!!
