New Ravilious Prints - plus Jessica Zoob and The Boy who Bit Picasso

PicassoThese fabulous Honeycomb decorations arrived just at the right moment to pop into our window - aren't they beautiful? This has to be far and away the most popular window I have done, I have never received so many compliments - thank you.

We are very pleased to have available for sale, three new Giclee prints by one of our best loved artists, Eric Ravilious.

Paddle Steamers Bristol Quay is a brilliant example of Ravilious' genius as a watercolourist.

Rye Harbour encapsulates all the beauty of the still bright morning.

This is my new favourite of all the reproductions available, the movement of the nets and the joy of the subject. These are all £225.00 and are available from our website or our Lewes Shop.

Brighton is in the throes of its Fringe festival throughout May, and it really is an amazing line up of interesting and diverse events. Tomorrow Africa Unite at the Concorde looks to be a brilliant night and there is a bewilderingly massive choice of comedy nights to rid us of the blues of the most dreary May in memory, but more than anything, I am determined to get myself to Farley Farmhouse this year to take their guided tour. I saw the exhibition of Lee Miller's Photographs last year at the Westgate Chapel here in Lewes, and have long wanted to visit the Sussex home of the Photographer Lee Miller and the writer and artist Roland Penrose, whose guests were diverse and glamourous members of the creative world, most famously Picasso spent time with the family there. Anthony Penrose, the couple's son who lives in the farmhouse today and runs the Lee Miller Archives, remembers his friendship with Picasso in his charming and brilliantly illustrated book, The Boy Who Bit Picasso, Thames and Hudson and available from us, in our Lewes shop.

Marston and Langinger, makers of the fine paints we supply from our shop, have collaborated with Homes and Gardens magazine and furniture suppliers Wesley-Barrell to produce a beautifully presented supplement with inspiration for a range of decorating scemes using their lovely range of colours - out this Month.

We are very excitedly in the midst of preparations for our Artwave Exhibition. We were thrilled to have been approached by the well loved Lewes artist Jessica Zoob, and are naturally delighted to be hosting her solo show here at the end of August. Jessica is making a collection of new paintings, unusually in miniature form, especially for the show, her work is well known for its generosity of scale and wonderful energy, I am intrigued and excited to see her miniature work in the show.

We will keep you posted.
