Simpson, Simonsen and Hitchens

Taylor was away for a day this week,  so Steve and I worked together in the shop, a rare occurrence these days and something that took us back to the beginnings of Kings Framers. Like a fish out of water, Steve being in the shop resulted in some hilarious consequences, his tendency to say whatever comes into his head left a few customers bemused! The highlight of the day was selling John Simpson's 'Broken Horse' to one of our favourite customers, who is also a lot of fun, and we all thoroughly enjoyed choosing a silver leaf frame for it. A stunning present for her godson's 21st birthday.

Lovely Sally from Artizan Editions came in on Tuesday bringing with her a hot new print from Henrik Simonsen that she is really proud of and rightly so. His work just seems to get better and better and we are thrilled to have it as part of the collection.

I am also massively excited about this beautiful Ivon Hitchens painting I am sourcing for a client. Last year I sourced two Hitchens along with several other artists for a private collection, and have been hoping to find something as equally beautifully for another client, and in 'Figure on the Blue Cushion' I found just that.

On admiring the painting this afternoon, Charlie and I thought to ourselves what a lovely way to spend ones time, lounging on some colourful cushions!
