Lewes - Fine All Year Round!

If we are a nation of shopkeepers, the unbelievably shocking events of this week, puts those individuals into even sharper focus. I sent my love and thoughts to those whose businesses have been so mindlessly and shamefully ruined, I feel even more determined that the role of the independent trader is key in society, displaying our strengths alongside our wares.

Lewes High Street is open again after several weeks of roadworks and perfectly timed to celebrate this reopening is our launch of Kelly Hall's lovely Lewes Vintage Railway Print, a ray of sunshine in a week that makes us need more than ever to find all that is beautiful and positive in this world.

Inspired by Chinese ceramics and the rural idyll of french Toile, combined with a fashion for all things Tattoo, this pair of prints by Peggy Lock are a new departure for our print collection, we love their deliberate decorative style and the lovely teal and indigo inks in which they are printed.

Also new to us this week are this trio of dynamic abstractions. original silkscreens in gorgeous blocks of colour, suggesting the the energy of sail and the solidity of Cornish landscape that inspired them.

Steve is making great progress building walls in our new workshop, the spray booth is nearly finished and it makes all the difference once the walls and ceiling are painted white - I'll keep you posted.

We have decided that our sale should run up to the end of this month as it has been tricky for people to get in to town with all the roadworks. There are brilliant bargains on mirrors and framed artwork particularly, and all our photoframes are reduced by 25% until 31st August - So do pop in and have a look!
