Late Night Shopping, Christmas Build Up Blog

Thursday night after the shop was shut we put in our Christmas window display! I always look forward to it but it takes a lot of planning and so when it works out well I am so relieved. The morning after it was such a beautiful cold crisp day, it really feels like the season has begun!

Our window features some beautiful wrapping papers and ribbons, I am always carried away when choosing colours and designs. I love the consideration that can go into the presentation of a present almost as much as choosing its contents.

Our newest addition to our online gallery is Miroslav Sasek, Czech illustrator of the wonderful children's travel books This Is Paris.Rome etc.I love the potential of this great Loco design by Studio Boot, a modular system printed on both sides allowing the possibility of 32,642 different design combinations!

Late Night Shopping is this Thursday the 6th December, and all over town our lovely independent traders are making preparations for the evening. The event is as always organised by The Lewes Chamber of Commerce, which really means a small group of small business owners, and this year it is raising funds for the much loved Starfish project. Starfish helps musical young people form bands and put on performances, and has recently moved location from Priory School to independent premises, hence is in need of financial assistance. I hope that there will be a great deal of support from the town on the night and that everyone has a wonderful time.

Happy Shopping!
