New Ravilious Prints - plus A Visit from John Simpson

Eric RaviliousLewes had its Late night shopping event last night and it poured with rain all day and all evening! Such a massive shame for all those who had put so much into the planning and helped do their bit for the town for what is usually a very special, magical evening. Taylor and I had started our day trekking up and down the many steps to the top of the Castle ferrying equipment for the fireworks display with a team of very wet volunteers! Nothing stops fireworks in Lewes and Commercial Square put on a great aerial display. I wanted to put some pictures up but it was fairly torrential at that time! I can show you my little elves helping with our window display, thanks to Sophie Rose and to Jerome.

We have some new prints recently released of original paintings by Eric Ravilious, Train Crossing a Bridge at Night is particularly atmospheric and the White Horse at Weymouth is typically lovely example of his seemingly effortless watercolour style.

The guys have been working hard in the workshop, bringing us some beautiful work. Here are a couple of pieces they produced this week.

John Simpson came by today chatting about his recent work (the beautiful Eagle's Descent), other new prints and framing. We were able to show him some of his work just framed and hung yesterday. What a lovely understated talent he is!
